
Sudan’s delegate to the African Union: external support for the rebel militia continues
Ambassador al-Zein Ibrahim Hussein, Sudan’s delegate to the African Union, stressed that the government of Sudan has strong evidence and evidence of the existence of significant external support for the rebel Rapid Support militia from external parties, headed by the United Arab Emirates, where air transportation is carried out through airports in the region such as Umm gars Chadian airport and the busaso base in Somalia, and then by land from Chad and other points in the vicinity to Sudanese territory .
He added during his address to the 38th session of the African Commission on human and Peoples ‘ Rights held in the capital Banjul, Gambia, that Sudan will continue to knock on the door of international justice, apply the foundations of National Justice at home, through law enforcement institutions and submit reports to the United Nations through the Security Council and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights.
Ambassador al-Zein pointed out that the National Commission for the investigation of crimes and violations of national law and international humanitarian law and many independent international bodies have concluded that the Rapid Support militia committed war crimes, crimes against humanity, ethnic cleansing and genocide, pointing to what happened in the city of El Geneina and the Masalit people in West Darfur and what is happening repeatedly around El Fasher and in Displaced Persons camps such as Zamzam, abushuk, Al Jazeera and other areas of Sudan, in addition to the civilian massacre committed by the militia in West Omdurman last week, and many crimes such as prisoners are tortured, killed and photographed in violation of humanitarian law .
Ambassador al-Zein pointed out that the rebel Rapid Support militia committed a mercenary crime by attracting foreign mercenaries from many nationalities, which amounted to more than ١٣ a country, according to statistics, some of them are neighboring countries in the region, and others from distant regions and countries outside the continent.
Ambassador al-Zein reviewed before the session the widespread violations committed by the Rapid Support militia against children and women, the practice of extrajudicial killings, forced displacement, enforced disappearance, denial of freedom of movement to civilians, attacks on civilian objects and homes, looting banks, and the militia’s targeting of civilian infrastructure, airports, communications and electricity transformers by drones and artillery shelling. Attacks on foreign diplomatic missions and international organizations and the blocking and confiscation of humanitarian aid.
