Council of Sovereignty Advisor for Humanitarian Affairs Meets with UN Resident Representative in Sudan

Lieutenant General Al-Sadiq Ismail Mahmoud, Advisor to the Transitional Sovereignty Council for Organizations and Humanitarian Affairs, met with Ms. Clementine Salami, the United Nations Resident Representative in Sudan, on the occasion of the end of her tenure in the country.

During the meeting, they discussed the humanitarian situation and ways to enhance partnership between Sudan and the United Nations in this vital area.

General Sadiq welcomed Ms. Salami’s visit, wishing her success in her future endeavors and calling on her to continue supporting Sudan from her new position. He also emphasized the commitment of his advisory council to continue working with her successor in the same spirit.

For her part, the UN representative expressed appreciation for the efforts made to enhance humanitarian work in Sudan. She confirmed that UN agencies operating in the country are ready to continue full cooperation with the Sovereignty Council’s advisory council to serve humanitarian goals and support affected communities.
