Somali Soldiers Reported Killed in Sudan’s Darfur Region
By Mohamed Saad Kamil
Brown Land News has learned from a reliable source the number of Somali nationals fighting alongside the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia in Sudan, with a notable presence in the conflict-stricken Darfur region.
According to the source, four Somali fighters have been confirmed dead, identified by their families as:
- Ahmed Abdi Kodax – Bosaso
- Hassan Orshe Mohamed – Bosaso
- Abdullah Farah Qasim – Bosaso
- Issa Jama Guleed – Bosaso
All four men were part of the first recruitment batch, comprising 320 soldiers. The source added that a second batch of 670 soldiers was later recruited under the auspices of the President of Puntland. Among those killed, two were identified as members of Puntland’s elite special security forces.
The revelation sheds light on the growing involvement of Somali combatants in Sudan’s ongoing conflict, raising questions about cross-border recruitment and the regional dynamics fueling the war in Darfur.
