Recently, a group of college graduates, including Liu Yuxuan from the China University of Metrology, visited the Jinyi Lake Science and Technology Innovation Source in Jindong District, Jinhua City, for an immersive experience. Chen Rongheng, general manager of Zhejiang Hengdong Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., acted as a tour guide to help them intensely experience the vitality and style of the “Zhejiang Central Version of Songshan Lake.”

In 2023, Chen Rongheng was invited to visit the Jinyi Lake Science and Technology Innovation Source. He recalled that on that day, they climbed up the hill and listened to the relevant department head of Jindong introducing the block planning. They were drawn to Jindong’s vibrant vitality and exceptional business environment and immediately decided to relocate Hengdong Technology to Jindong.

With the establishment and growth of Hengdong Technology, Jinyi Lake—a 27.77 square kilometer city and a source of technological innovation created by Jindong District in line with Guangdong’s Songshan Lake—has rapidly risen to become a new urban landmark integrating “industry, city, and humanities.”
High-level scientific and technological innovation platforms, such as the Jinhua Shuanglong Talent Science and Technology Innovation Center, the Zhejiang University Jinhua Research Institute, and the Zhejiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Jinhua Research Institute, have been established one after another. Projects like the new energy vehicle upstream and downstream complete industrial chain parts industrial park, as well as the humanoid robot industrialization, have also thrived.

Recalling the scene when he first settled in Jinhua Science and Technology City, Dai Linghao was filled with emotion. As one of the first batch of talents introduced to the Jinyi Lake Science and Technology Innovation Source, he experienced the transformation firsthand.
On December 30, 2022, the Jinhua Academy of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University was inaugurated. In early January 2023, Dai Linghao led his team to settle in Jinhua Technology City.
“At first, neither accommodation nor office buildings were ready, so I frequently commuted between Jinhua and Hangzhou,” Dai recalled.

Over the past two years, Jindong District has established a talent service system that features comprehensive coverage, real-time accessibility, and end-to-end support, addressing pressing concerns that hindered talent from settling in, such as residency registration, children’s education, and housing guarantees.
“Now there’s no need to commute. Work, daily life, and other needs can all be met right here at Jinyi Lake,” Dai said with a smile as he took out a marathon medal.

In March this year, ten thousand runners gathered by Jinyi Lake for the 2025 Jinyi Lake · Zhejiang Half-Marathon Team Race. Dai and 40 research leaders from the laboratory raced passionately along the 21.0975-kilometer “Innovation-Ecology Track,” embodying the “two-way efforts” between tech talent and urban development through action.

“Jinyi Lake’s first-class ecological environment has become the decisive factor attracting enterprises and talent to take root and pursue dreams. In the first half of 2025 alone, the platform drew multiple tech projects, including HFun-Tech’s humanoid robots and QCraft’s global headquarters for commercial-vehicle autonomous driving,” stated an official from the High-Tech Service Center Office of Jinyi New District (Jindong District).

Jindong will continue cultivating a business environment centered on efficiency and rooted in openness and inclusivity—enabling enterprises and talent to thrive, to “feel at home,” and to “return to the forest like birds.”
The district aims to develop Jinyi Lake’s innovation hub into:
