Press release
Clarification on the statement of the group allied with the rebel Rapid Support militia:
We have seen on the media the circulation of a statement written with two conflicting dates (between 13to 19 March), which loses accuracy and credibility, and was removed by a list of names headed by Abdullah Ibrahim Aqab and others, and the signatories claim that they have met and decided to withdraw confidence from the leader Malik air, the head of the popular movement-north and the leaders Ahmed mayor, the head of the movement in the Blue Nile region and Adam karshum, the head of the movement in the state of West Kordofan, and therefore we would like to clarify the following points
First. The group led by Abdullah Aqab came out of the popular movement-north of the “Revolutionary Front” since the first months of the start of the war in april, and there are many irrefutable evidence and evidence published on various media proving their departure from the organization and joining the ranks of the rebel Rapid Support militia.
Secondly. According to the provisions of the Constitution of the popular movement “Revolutionary Front”, amended for the year 2019 in Article (12), paragraphs (4-5), the change of positions and political affiliations and deviation from the vision of the organization all this means the loss of the member’s organizational membership; therefore, since the announcement of this group to change its destination and affiliation, it has completely lost its membership in the movement.
Third. When this group lost its membership because of its rebellion, its political compass stopped, and it was unable to achieve its ambitions; so it resorted to taking this opportunistic step in the disappointed belief that it would reproduce itself after the time had passed, and such lies would not and did not affect the March of the popular movement, the rigidity of its positions and the solidarity of its membership, but make it more unified and cohesive than before.
Fourth. The leadership of the SPLM-North continues to shoulder its political and organizational responsibilities and move forward towards its goals, and emphasizes the freedom of its organizational and political decision and the commitment of its membership to the spirit of the Constitution, the political line, the ethics of companionship and the vision of the New Sudan based on peace, democracy and unity based on historical and contemporary diversity and equal citizenship without discrimination.
