The First Vice-President of the Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant-General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, received in his office today Jeffrey Feltman, the US envoy to the Horn of Africa, in the presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Maryam Al-Sadiq.
During the meeting, the First Vice-President of the Sovereignty Council welcomed the US delegation, praising the US’s interest in Sudan, stressing Khartoum’s keenness to build strategic relations that serve the interests of the peoples of the two countries.
Lieutenant-General Dagalo gave an explanation to the American delegation regarding the recent developments, against the backdrop of the failed coup attempt, pointing to the vigilance of the regular forces in confronting any attempts to impede the democratic transition process. Transition and expanding the circle of political participation to achieve stability in the country.
The First Vice President reiterated his keenness to complete the democratic transition process until the stage of the election at the end of the transitional period.
For his part, the US envoy offered his condolences for the martyrs of the General Intelligence Service, stressing his country’s keenness on the stability of Sudan, pointing to the importance of unifying military and civil efforts to ensure the stability of the country.
