Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs meets the Ambassador of Somalia in Khartoum

His Excellency the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Abdullah Omar Bashir, met in his office this morning, Monday, January 3, 2022 AD, His Excellency “Mohammed Sheikh Ishaq Ibrahim”, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia in Khartoum.

The Somali ambassador stressed the strength of Sudanese-Somali relations, expressing his country’s desire to enhance cooperation with Sudan in various fields. 

His Excellency thanked Sudan for receiving Somali students, providing good services, and facilitating consular transactions for members of the Somali community in Sudan.

For his part, the Undersecretary praised the level of Sudanese-Somali relations that are deeply rooted, citing the common cultural ties between the two brotherly countries, expressing Sudan’s desire to strengthen its relations with Somalia in all possible areas of cooperation through cooperation mechanisms such as joint ministerial committees and political consultation committees.

The meeting discussed developments in the political situation in the two countries and possible opportunities to achieve political stability.
