Sovereignty Council VP Meets Directors of Telecommunications Companies

The Vice-President of the Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant-General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, held in his office today a meeting with the directors of telecommunications companies (Zain, Sudatel, and MTN), in the presence of the Acting Minister of Communications and Digital Transformation, Mr. Adel Hassan Mohamed Al-Hussein, and the Director General of the Communications and Post Authority.

During the meeting, His Excellency stressed the need to expand coverage and improve service quality, to include all states of Sudan, especially Darfur.

Engineer Magdi Taha, General Manager of Sudatel Telecom, confirmed in a press statement that the Vice-President of the Sovereignty Council directed telecommunications companies to the importance of expanding the telecommunications network, in addition to providing Internet services throughout Sudan, especially in Darfur, noting that the companies promised to start immediately. Providing all telecommunications services, in addition to continuing to implement the pre-established plan to develop telecommunications services throughout the country.

He explained that the Universal Service Fund will start distributing about 100 telecom towers in Darfur during the coming period, adding that the meeting touched upon several problems facing telecom companies, noting that General Daglo promised to overcome all difficulties to provide service to all Sudanese.
