
Al-Burhan holds talks with Abi Ahmed
Sudan and Ethiopian heads of states, the Sovereign Council chairman, Lieut.-Gen. Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, Ethiopian Prime Minister Abi Ahmed, held talks on bilateral relations and prospects for joint cooperation, on the sidelines of the Tana Forum taking place in the Ethiopian city of Bahir Dar, Saturday.
Chairman Al-Burhan expressed his pleasure to take part in the Tana Forum on peace and security in Africa and pointed out the historical relations between Sudanese and Ethiopian peoples.
He said the two peoples share a common destiny, indicating that outstanding issues between the two countries can be resolved through dialogue, stressing Sudan’s keenness to maintain close relations with Ethiopia.
Onthe Renaissance Dam, Al-Burhan hinted at a possibility of reaching an agreement on technical matters related the controversial dam.
For his part, the Ethiopian Prime Minister thanked the Sovereign Council chairman for his participation in the Tana Forum, describing Ethiopian-Sudanese ties as special.
