Al-Burhan returns home after participation in COP27 Summit in Sharm El-Sheikh

Khartoum – President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) Gem. Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan returned home Tuesday evening after heading Sudan delegation participating in sessions of the Conference of the Parties (COP27) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change held in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt.

He was received at Khartoum airport by the TSC member , Al-Taher Hajar, several ministers and the TSC Secretary-General , Lt. Gen. Mohamed Al-Ghali Ali Yusuf.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, ambassador Ali Al Sadiq, said in a press statement that the TSC President and his accompanied delegation took part on the sidelines of the Climate Change Summit in a number of activities, dialogue workshops and summits which tackled problems of the climate change and how to address them as well as seeking means of providing the necessary funds for confronting the climate changes

He said that Sudan was one of the countries which was hit by climate changes and desertification and that led to waves of displacement and refuge .

The Minister of Foreign Affairs pointed out that the TSC President held a number of meetings on the sidelines of the Summit with several Arab and African presidents and discussed with them horizons of joint cooperation and strengthening Sudan’s relations with the said countries.

The Minister disclosed that Gen. Al-Burhan met with the Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister , Prince Mohamed Bin Salman and discussed progress of bilateral relations and support to be provided to Sudan by the Saudi Investment Fund.
