“Child rights from the Perspective of Sustainable development Goals 2030”

Sovereign member Taher Hajar invites sectors and segments of society to contribute to the Childhood Support Fund

The member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, representative of the President of the Council, Taher_Abu Bakr_Hajar, announced that the Sovereignty Council will adopt the recommendations and outputs of the first African/Arab Corporate Social Responsibility Conference and Fundamental Child Rights .

Hajar, praised during addressing to the opening session of the conference in the Friendship Hall , under the patronage of the President of the Sovereign Council Abdel Fattah Al_Burhan ,the Supervision of the Minister of Social Development ، under the slogan”Child rights from the Perspective of Sustainable development Goals 2030 , with the participation of a number of Arab and African countries and regional, international and national organizations, praised on the scientific papers and topics that the conference will discuss and the bodies that contributed to its preparation, especially the National Council for Child Welfare, noting that the interest of the Sovereignty Council , aims to protect, care and well-being of the child.

His Excellency stressed the need to raise awareness of the children situation , calling for activating and revitalizing the social responsibility of companies and businessmen to support the basic rights of the child.

The member of the Sovereignty Council affirmed that Sudan, sensing the importance of implementing the principles declared in the Charter of the United Nations and regional, international and local organisations.

Taher Hajar expressed Sudan’s thanks and appreciation to regional and international organizations working in the field of childhood and for their efforts for the sake of children and their families.

He said, “Children still suffer from many dangers and threats such as wars, displacement, asylum, displacement and malnutrition.

Pointing to the state’s commitment to take the necessary measures and arrangements that contribute to achieving the sustainable development of childhood.

He appealed to businessmen, businessmen, companies, banking and financial bodies and institutions to take care of children, contribute to spreading awareness of children’s rights, and allocate an estimated percentage of their proceeds to the Child Support Fund.

The Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, said that the phenomena of homelessness and drop-out of school, on a large scale in the country, are caused by poverty and hunger.

The Minister of Social Development said that the conference aims to bridge the gap for a prosperous future for the children of Sudan by providing protection, care and development within the framework of the policy and the overall responsibility of the Ministry to protect the vulnerable, especially the children.

He indicated that the reality of childhood is bitter and suffers from many challenges and problems represented in school dropouts as a result of child labor in addition to homelessness, and poverty.

The Secretary-General of the National Council for Child Welfare, Dr. Abdul Qader Abdullah Abu, said that the conference aims to consolidate a comprehensive understanding of the reference and objectives of the role of social responsibility toward the child in Sudan and to raise awareness and alert all sectors of the government, the private sector, and national and foreign organizations to play a major role in supporting children through the social responsibility clause and work to support programs for children
