Ruto breaks silence on Sudan’s crisis

President William Ruto has called for a peaceful resolution to the crisis in Sudan.

He said the outbreak of violence will affect the nation’s stability and reverse the gains made.

“We ask the conflicting groups in Sudan to maintain peace, especially during this Holy month of Ramadan.”

The President further implored all parties to address any differences “through peaceful means for the sake of the security of the people of Sudan and stability in the country and the region”.

Dr Ruto said he is consulting with the regional leadership and other relevant international partners to further dialogue and mediation in Sudan.

“Kenya and the IGAD States are available and ready to contribute to the resolution of this unfortunate situation.”
