Sovereignty Council’s First VP chairs Supreme National Committee meeting for Peace Agreement Implementation

The First Vice President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Muhammad Hamdan Dagalo, chaired today, at the Republican Palace, the third meeting of the Supreme National Committee (with its full membership) for the implementation of the Juba Agreement for Sudan’s Peace.

In attendance of Prime Minister Dr. Abdullah Hamadok, and participation of the parties to the peace process.

Mr. Nour Al-Daem, the committee’s official spokesperson, said in a press statement that the meeting discussed the implementation of the peace agreement and the obstacles facing it.

He explained that the meeting secured the necessity to expedite the formation of the joint force immediately, and praised some of the parties that submitted statements of this, pointing out that the meeting directed to expedite the payment of financial dues to implement the security arrangements clause.

Nour Al-Daem announced the formation of a number of committees to implement the peace agreement in the various tracks.

He pointed out that the meeting congratulated the leader Minni Arku Minawi on his appointment as governor of the Darfur region, wishing him success.
