Armed Opposition Opens New Front in Am-Sissia, Seizes Control of the City
The Military Council for Democracy (CMD), in coordination with the United Front for Liberation and Justice in Africa (FULJA), has seized control of the city of Am-Sissia (mid-west region) following violent clashes with the regime’s army.
According to local sources, this operation marks the opening of a new front in the movements of the Chadian opposition. This escalation comes as part of the implementation of the Asmara Conference resolutions, held on September 24, 2022, which aimed to unify opposition forces.
Representatives of these movements indicate that this advancement may pave the way for similar operations in other regions across the country.
