Foreign Minister Meets Egyptian Counterpart

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Mohiuddin Salem, met Tuesday with Egypt’s Foreign Minister, Dr. Badr Abdelatty, at the Egyptian Foreign Ministry headquarters in Cairo. The meeting falls within the framework of ongoing consultation and coordination between the two nations.

The talks explored ways to bolster the close strategic relations between Sudan and Egypt, with both sides reaffirming their mutual commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation across various sectors.

The Egyptian Foreign Minister emphasized his country’s steadfast position in support of Sudan’s unity, territorial integrity, and the preservation of its national institutions. He rejected any attempts to undermine Sudan’s sovereignty or stability, reiterating Egypt’s condemnation of the violations and atrocities witnessed in El Fasher and Kordofan, while affirming full solidarity with the Sudanese people.

For his part, Ambassador Salem expressed Sudan’s appreciation for Egypt’s supportive role, praising its political and humanitarian efforts as well as the relief and medical assistance provided to the Sudanese people.

The meeting also addressed resolving challenges facing the Sudanese community residing in the Arab Republic of Egypt.

Concluding the meeting, both ministers agreed to maintain continued consultation and coordination on issues of mutual interest to serve the aspirations of both peoples.
