Political Advisor to the Sudanese Prime Minister: Massad Boulos represents only the UAE, and the “Sumoud” group is the primary beneficiary

Exclusive: Brownland | Badreldin Abdulrahman

Mr. Mohamed Mohamed Kheir, Political Advisor to the Sudanese Prime Minister, stated that the remarks made by Massad Boulos, Advisor to U.S. President Trump, regarding the humanitarian truce and the Quartet’s peace efforts in Sudan, are viewed as a “suspicion” that has drawn numerous mounting accusations. He asserted that Boulos is “implementing a vision specific to the UAE because it provides him with bribes,” and that the UAE itself possesses no political logic toward Sudan other than constantly appealing to presidents and envoys through bribery and financial influence.
In an exclusive statement to Brownland, Mohamed Kheir confirmed that Boulos’s proposals do not enjoy consensus within the Quartet because he represents only the Emirati voice, explaining that this constitutes a structural flaw in the mediation process itself.
The Political Advisor pointed to existing disputes among the Quartet members themselves, which reached the point of the UAE’s expulsion from Yemen, confirming a significant state of tension between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the UAE over other issues. He noted that Boulos’s rhetoric will not move one step forward because it suffers from internal American divisions, and his statements do not represent the views of the key pillars within the U.S. administration, often exceeding the perceptions of other agencies.
Mohamed Kheir emphasized that Massad Boulos is now considered a “voice” for the UAE, which maintains him solely to leak its own views. He clarified that the beneficiary of this is the “Sumoud” group, which he described as powerless, lacking popular depth, and possessing nothing but its relationship with the UAE, which uses the group as a “cat’s paw.” He denied that Boulos’s remarks could produce peace in Sudan, describing them as incomplete, flawed, and likely to result in a breachable truce.
The Political Advisor mocked the sanctions recently issued by the U.S. Treasury against certain individuals from the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF), saying: “They do not even have bank accounts in America itself!” He explained that these are symbolic sanctions reflecting terrible ignorance, and that this existential battle cannot be settled in such a manner.
Mohamed Kheir asserted that the only path to peace in Sudan is the initiative presented by Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idriss before the United Nations and the entire international community. He noted that this initiative will find a positive response because it is built on rational pillars and realistic ground, serving as a gateway to true democratic development and representing all official state institutions
