South Sudan Government, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations Launch Nationwide Vaccination of 10 Million Livestock

The Government of South Sudan, in partnership with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), has officially launched a nationwide livestock vaccination campaign targeting more than 10 million animals across the country in 2026.

The landmark exercise was flagged off in Dijeri Boma, Ladu Payam of Juba County, Central Equatoria State, by the National Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries in collaboration with the State Ministry of Animal Resources, Fisheries and Tourism.

The campaign aims to safeguard cattle, sheep, goats, poultry and dogs against major infectious diseases that continue to threaten livelihoods, food security and public health in South Sudan.
