Study Reveals the Harmful Effects of ChatGPT

A study conducted by MIT revealed that 83.3% of ChatGPT users couldn’t recall a single sentence they had written just minutes earlier. In contrast, those who wrote without AI easily remembered their work.

The neural connectivity score of ChatGPT users dropped sharply from 79 to 42 points, representing a 47% decrease in neural activity. This was the lowest score among all groups.

After discontinuing ChatGPT, these users continued to show reduced activity in subsequent sessions. Their scores remained lower than those of those who had never used AI.

Articles written using AI were technically correct but were often described as “mechanical,” “soulless,” and “lacking depth.”

The irony is that while ChatGPT makes users 60% faster at completing tasks, it reduces mental effort by 32%.

Those who worked without AI and then started using it later achieved the best results. These individuals were characterized by improved memory, higher brain activity, and better overall performance.
