Exclusive: Video Raises Questions Over Alleged Israeli Radar Presence in Bosaso

Brown Land News has received an exclusive video today 22 February 2026 that allegedly shows a radar installation operating in Bosaso, located in the semi-autonomous region of Puntland, Somalia.
According to sources who shared the footage, the radar system was reportedly installed earlier last year and remains operational despite diplomatic tensions between Somalia’s federal government and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Somalia previously announced measures to reassess or reduce certain foreign military and security engagements within its territory.
Alleged Israeli Ownership Sources cited by Brown Land News claim the radar system is believed to be linked to Israel and may be intended to monitor missile activity originating from Yemen, particularly threats associated with the Houthis.
However, Brown Land News has not independently verified the ownership or operational control of the radar installation. No official statement has been released by Israeli or Emirati authorities confirming involvement in the system referenced in the video.
UAE–Puntland Relations Sources further allege that the radar equipment was transported to Bosaso through UAE channels. The UAE has historically maintained security and port development cooperation with Puntland authorities.
Puntland’s president, Said Abdullahi Deni, has previously overseen partnerships with foreign allies in areas related to infrastructure and security. As of publication, Puntland authorities have not issued a public response regarding the claims circulating in the video. Regional Security Context The Horn of Africa and the Red Sea corridor have experienced heightened security concerns due to ongoing regional tensions, including missile and drone activity linked to the conflict in Yemen. Strategic coastal locations such as Bosaso are often viewed as important monitoring points due to their proximity to key maritime routes.
