Member of the Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Kabashi, and the Russian Envoy Discuss Enhancing Bilateral Relations and Cooperation Between the Two Countries

Lieutenant General Shamseddine Kabashi, a member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, along with the Russian Special Envoy for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, discussed bilateral relations between Sudan and Russia and ways to enhance political, economic, military, and cultural cooperation in the presence of the Chargé d’Affaires, Ambassador Hussein Awad Ali.

Lieutenant General Kabashi praised Russia’s supportive positions for Sudanese legitimacy, affirming that all attempts by those seeking to undermine Sudan’s interests, sovereignty, and stability are destined to fail.

Lieutenant General Kabashi emphasized Sudan’s openness to all initiatives aimed at bloodshed cessation but within the framework of legitimacy and the Sudanese vision that guarantees and preserves the full rights of the Sudanese people.

The acting Foreign Minister clarified in a press statement that the Russian envoy denounced during the meeting the claims equating the legitimacy of the Sudanese state with rebellion.

He stated that the meeting aimed to reaffirm Russia’s support for Sudan in facing any threats to its sovereignty and the interests of its people.
